Activism by Philippa

I am a committed and passionate grassroots social justice activist and community organiser.

My core activism work has been around the empowerment of women and girls and eradicating gender-based violence, though I care deeply about all social justice and human rights issues.

I believe in inclusivity and intersectionality, community building, grassroots organising, and creating incremental and sustainable change.

I am always open to hearing about activism work and organisations, and connecting with other passionate change agents.

Please contact me if you would like to work on an initiative together, or need a sounding board.

I am currently open to board membership opportunities, select pro-bono work, campaigning or racing for different organisations, and collaboration opportunities for Future Females Foundation.

Previous and Ongoing Activism Work:

  • Launched the Future Females Foundation (NGO) and currently serving as Director

  • Ambassador at Women For Change Run

  • Project Lead at Global Shapers Cape Town Hub

  • Fundraiser for Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust

  • Volunteer at Nonceba Family Counselling Centre

  • Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community

FUTURE FEMALES

FOUNDATION

Future Females Foundation is a nonprofit organisation focusing on empowering women around the world by fighting for an end to gender-based violence and discrimination.

We work on preventative as well as protective solutions that are safe, scalable and sustainable.

We are technology-enabled, education-focused and community-driven.

We know that in order to really make an impact in combating gender-based violence around the world, we need to tackle the ingrained systemic normative that cause it.

Our "why" is clear: we envision a world where women are free and able to be who and what they want to be.

Join the movement, be part of the change.
